After reading TTG#8 I was a lil confused as to how the guys who made it got away with the ending when the commic is supposed to be marketed to 11 year olds.

What do you guys think?

Mangaka provided this link on the AI forums incase you've not read it.

This thread is now for reviews and stuff for TTG Issue #8 - "Naked City". -Forau

I haven't read the entire comic, but following that link, it's not that difficult to get away with. There are tons of (sexual) innuendo jokes in PPG for example and that's marketed at the roughly the same audience.

Hrm...well, they did do a few similar jokes in some episodes. "Transformation" comes to mind, particularly when Robin is watering the garden with a hose, followed by Raven separating the rocks to let a waterfall break through. That scene was an eyebrow-raiser, although they're definitely not as blatant as that page in TTG #8.

Stuff like that in cartoons geared for kids don't really surprise me anymore. In fact, I've come to expect it. You'd have more than a field day trying to catalog all the dirty jokes that come up in PpG.

Heh, you should read the Harley & Ivy miniseries by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini.

That thing is full of innuendos and pages of Harley and Ivy in either showers or underwear.

I don't think DC pays very much attention the Comic Code Authority anymore. But then again, who does?

*snickers*...now more than ever I want to get that issue... Laughing

Anyways, on a more serious note...in a world (or at least country) where cartoons like Ren and Stimpy, Cow and Chicken, and IR Baboon, all of which were targeted towards kids 7 and up (!!!!), have been accepted and even loved by kids for at least a notable period of time, that incident could actually be considered rather tame compared to what has been aired on national TV in the past.

Heck, I think even Disney was worse than that at some points in time Shocked

They did? Now I really want to read it!

I hardly think they make her look like a whore. It's all in how you interpret the comic. Starfire probably did not know that walking naked is bad for the male part of the team in terms how getting things done. The idea that her having naked makes her a whore, is all in your head.

For some reason the picture in the message board link isn't showing up. Does someone else have a copy of that scan?

What's with Raven's hand-covering-eye-with-the-freaky-smile pose? Looks really strange...

I think she did see BB naked which made her embarrassed. She then coverEd her face so BB doesn't that she's embarrassed and so she can claim that 'she doesn't want to look.'

That's what I got from the smile while she shielded her eyes. Twisted Evil
